GENERAL QUESTIONS
---------------------------------------------
Q: What is this place?
A: This is a message board for all Beatles fans to talk and interact on. The board is also a part of the Beatles fansite, Let It Beatle. Sadly we had to discover, that the site no longer excists. Let It Beatle might be gone, but the forum is still here.
Q: Do I have to register to post?
A: Currently, the board is set so that guests can't see the board. This is due to the latest things happening (threads dissapearing etc.) But will be changed as soon as possible. People must register to read the threads and start new threads. You also need to register if you want to send private messages to people. Another benefit of registering is that you secure your username and nobody else can use it.
Q: If I want to start a new topic, how do I know which section to put it in?
A: On the main page of the forums, you can find descripitions of what each individual forum is about. It's pretty straightforward.
Q: I'm getting this page that says "Too many connections." What's the deal with that?
A: Because Proboards hosts multiple boards on each server, sometimes the servers just get too busy. If you get that message, PLEASE wait the 30 seconds before you try refreshing the page. If the servers didn't take a break, they could crash. And that would be bad.
Q: Can I be a moderator?
A: LIB has been down for a little while and Patty and I have tried to get it up again. With new members coming it seems we are slowly reaching our target. So far Patty and I, as the admins, have done all moderating. Although our other admin, Emma, hasn't been here recently, we will keep her here for a little while.
There are times that Patty and I will be busy and we can't be here all the time. For those moments we have got a new moderator: Creme Tangerine/Tegan. She will be moderating a few boards on LIB as she is often here and is the best for the job.
However, in the near future we would like to have more moderators again, as it also makes you members part of "the team". If you've still got your heart set on it though, you can PM one of the admins. If we see that one forum is getting particularly busy and could use another moderator, we may ask you to fill the position.
Q: Can I use profanity?
A: We turned off the censorship filter because we've seen it do wacky things on other Proboards (you can't use the word cucumber, for one). Personally, we don't mind a little casual swearing... but if we see you using it to insult someone or be really vulgar, we'll step in and do something about it. We really don't want to have to turn that filter on, so let's try to keep it relatively clean.
Q: I can't reply to a thread. What's going on?
A: Check to see if the topic isn't locked. If it isn't, please post in the "Help!" forum about it. We've had this problem once before.
Q: What are member groups and what's the meaning of the stars under people's names?
A: The member groups and stars signify how many posts a person has. The following member groups are defined:
0-49 posts: Nowhere Man (1 star)
50-99 posts: Fool On The Hill (2 stars)
100-249 posts: Day Tripper (3 stars)
250- 499 posts: Paperback Writer (4 stars)
500-999 posts: Taxman (5 stars)
1000- 1999 posts: Mr. Moonlight (6 stars) + custom user title [see the Custom Titles thread for more information.]
2000- 4999 posts: Honeypie (7 stars)
5000+ posts: The Walrus (8 stars)
There are also special member groups for the staff members:
Administrator: Her Majesty (red stars)
Moderator: Dr. Robert (green stars)
*Note: The Dr. Robert title and green stars only show up next to the moderator's posts on the forum that she/he moderates.
Q: What if I'm having problems with another member?
A: PLEASE try and send the person a private message discussing why you feel upset. If that doesn't work, you can PM me or Patty and we'll try to work something out.
Q: How do I put a picture in my signature?
A: You can use the standard image code to put a picture in your signature:
[ img ]url of picture[ /img ]
^edit out the spaces
Q: How do I put a youtube video in my post?
A: Youtube video's always have an url, like this:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyyEc-GNDfQ
The part in bold is what you need to use. When replying to a topic, the button for that tag is the one with with "tube" on it
